Happy Birthday Beethoven!

Happy Birthday Beethoven!
Hosted by Aj. Elissa Miller-Kay
Description:
2020 is a big year for Beethoven—the 250th anniversary of his birth. And who better to make a birthday gift for him than you?! The fact that young artists living in 21st-century Bangkok can still find meaning and inspiration in his music is a remarkable testament to its enduring power.
In this project, we'll work together to make a documentary that expresses what Beethoven's music means to you. Everything about the documentary will be decided by the group: the repertoire, style, narrative structure, and visuals. You may choose to play and discuss excerpts from Beethoven's pieces that you are working on now or have played in years past. Or, you may choose to play and discuss excerpts from one of Beethoven's symphonies or another work you enjoy. There will be room to showcase multiple perspectives and ideas, and for several different performances.
On day 1, we will work together as a group: brainstorming, planning, discussing, studying Beethoven. On day 2, we will break into smaller teams to rehearse, conduct research and write scripts. Filming will take place on day 3 and editing on days 4 and 5.
Beethoven's legacy is not only enduring, it is evolving. This birthday gift is a chance to be part of that evolution. Come share what Beethoven means to you in the here and now.
