What is an etude? A piece that is designed to address certain technical challenges. Etudes run the range from (mere) technical exercise to concert-worthy works of art. In this project, students at PGVIM work on an etude of their choice. They discuss the technical challenges and musical features of their etude, as well as their personal experience working on it. Written descriptions and audio recordings are presented on this blog.
